“Education is the Engine of Development”, a famous quote from Nelson Mandela truly inspires the society to ensure education of every child in the society. Keeping this in mind, Government of Rajasthan has introduced “Adarsh Schools” in the state.
In June 2016, Hon’ble Chief Minister VasundharaRaje announced that in every Gram Panchayat of Rajasthan, there would be one school which would be from Class 1st till 12th and would be named “Adarsh School”. This school would act as the mentor school and Schools have already been developed in different Gram Panchayats in Rajasthan.
Adarsh Schools are developed as large integrated schools with highly qualified teachers and smart infrastructural facilities like computer labs, libraries, and playgrounds for students, boundary walls, enough number of classrooms and separate toilets for boys and girls are deployed. These schools are developed keeping infrastructure of private schools in mind.
After the setup of these schools, a considerable change in the rural education system has been observed and these schools have been contributing to an extent in getting the students well educated and disciplined. The enrolment percentage graph has reached a new height till now and is continuously on the rise every year.
Hon’ble Chief Minister, after the success of the Adarsh School initiation, has also shown interest in opening some schools on a PPP (Public-Private-Partnership) basis with the objective of providing quality education to the students at costs matching to those of Government schools.
The project of “Adarsh Schools” is implemented at a vast scale across all the districts of Rajasthan. In the last couple of years, it has been observed that Adarsh Schools have contributed to a large extent in getting the rural children educated. The ratio of Literate individuals in the state has increased because of the presence of Adarsh Schools.
The government of Rajasthan has always been keen to promote education and literacy among the citizens of the state, especially to the ones who live in the rural area, which makes it an outstanding government as compared to the other state governments of India. The steps taken by Government of Rajasthan in developing the state have been remarkable and surely, these steps would contribute a lot to the overall development and a positive environment in Rajasthan.
