BSBY – Changed Face of Health Insurance in Rajasthan


Receiving good health care is not a privilege; it is a fundamental right of every citizen. Every society must provide basic health care services to its citizens irrespective of their paying capacity. Believing in the notion, Government of Rajasthan under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje launched Bhamashah Swasthya Beema Yojana (BSBY) – a flagship healthcare scheme providing hassle-free cashless treatment.

Providing quality healthcare services to all citizens has always been the key objective of Rajasthan government. To achieve the same, Department of IT and Communications, Government of Rajasthan launched Bhamashah Swasthya Beema Yojana; pioneering health insurance scheme provides cashless treatment and an improved quality of care. The scheme is committed to good health and well-being of the people of the state. It reduces the increasing burden on Government facilities in order to provide quality healthcare to over one crore families which fall under National Food Security Scheme (NFSS) and National Health Insurance Scheme category.

Path-breaking achievements made by Bhamashah Swasthya Beema Yojana:


Bhamashah Swasthya Beema Yojana has changed the face of health-care facilities in Rajasthan. The health insurance scheme is not only benefiting millions of citizens by improving health-care facilities but also hedging the financial risk of excess expenditure on healthcare by using insurance as a tool. Like various other flagship schemes by Government of Rajasthan, BSBY has also adopted high-end technology in its implementation. Offering easy access through authentication with UIDAI and Bhamashah card and providing 24 by 7 availability of the system to the patients for filling claim, BSBY has been successful to provide cash-less treatment to more than 14 lac individuals. With initiatives like this Rajasthan government is building a path towards “Naya Rajasthan”.
